Lupus research hero Dr. Marc Chevrier passes away

The worldwide lupus community are mourning the death of lupus research pioneer Dr. Marc Chevrier, PhD, MD, FACR, he died aged 54 on 6th February following a brief illness.

Perhaps most notably, as a member of the team at Human Genome Sciences, he helped develop Benlysta® (belimumab) as the first new lupus treatment for lupus in more than 50 years.

He held a longtime interest in making a difference in people’s lives by solving the challenges presented by autoimmune diseases and surrounding issues.
