Michael Jackson had both discoid lupus and vitiligo. Discoid lupus erythematosus is a skin condition causing red, scaly, and crusty patches on the skin, primarily on the scalp, cheeks, and ears. Vitiligo is a condition where patches of skin lose their pigment. Jackson's dermatologist, Arnold Klein, diagnosed him with both conditions.
